Do you already dream of being on the cover of fashion magazines, presented as the new Galliano or the new Phoebe Philo? Are your friends and family praising you for your sense of style and pretty pencil strokes?

It could be the sign of an innate talent that will one day allow you to work for the biggest luxury brands. Before you raise a glass to your future success, discover three effective ways to make a difference.

1. Fashion is a relationship industry!

As you may have noticed, fashion is a relational industry, where human relationships are directly linked to work. Perhaps the cinema would have us believe otherwise (in The Devil Wears Prada for example), but it's crucial to develop trusting relationships if we hope to evolve one day.

In other words, to go from junior trainee to assistant, and then from assistant to regular, you have to be involved at all times, and put your heart into even the most insignificant tasks. An ultra-competitive mentality, which involves crushing others at every opportunity, will get you no further than the local thrift store.

Here's an infallible tip for showing off your best side: don't forget that you're only dealing with people. Often influential figures, certainly recognized names, but people like you, with whom you probably have many things in common.

We often tend to make our role models sacred, and wrongly so. So, unwavering respect, yes, and the ability to question yourself, yes, but the fear of starting a dialogue, no! With your colleagues, behave in the same way as you would with your teachers, remain natural and everything will go perfectly smoothly.

2. Develop your own brand

In fashion, expectations are obviously very high when it comes to the visual universe. Just because you want to work for luxury brands doesn't mean you have to neglect your personal style - quite the contrary! The people recruited to head up the big fashion houses have generally already proved their worth, sometimes by developing their own label beforehand.

So if you're hoping to land the job you've always dreamed of, it's time to think about what you can bring to the table. You'll need to choosing the right fashion school to help you speed up the process.

But there's a part of the journey you can do on your own. How would you define your look? What kind of clothes do you want to create? Answering these questions will give you a few pointers.

It's important to remember that technical mastery (sewing, pattern-making, etc.) is just a tool to help you develop your personality. You can acquire it through training in ready-to-wear, but no training program can choose your path for you.

Your goals are known only to you, so don't hesitate to trust your instincts.

3. Understand the codes of luxury brands

It's all very well being talented, but if you don't know Saint Laurent's artistic director, you're not making things very easy for yourself. Don't forget that in ready-to-wear and haute couture, everything is a reference, everything is reuse!

It's very important to understand the codes used to integrate into this sometimes closed world. To this end, there are a number of free resources available online to keep up to date with the latest news.

Like any other artistic field, fashion has its own culture and history. If you take an interest in fashion and learn more about it, you'll be one step closer to realizing your dreams.

Take ten minutes out of your day to do a Google search, buy books on fashion designers you admire, go to art and design exhibitions... The most important thing is to stay curious so you're always one step ahead, and ready for job interviews.

It's also thanks to these discoveries that your style will evolve to become completely unique, and catch the eye of the luxury brands that inspire you. If you want your first collection to be noticed, you can impress your audience by talking about your inspirations!
