Apprenticeship contract: Objective

Visit apprenticeship contract is a employment contract based on the principle of alternating initial training at school with vocational training at the company with which the apprentice has signed a contract. The aim is to acquire a professional qualification in the form of a state-recognized diploma.

Duration of apprenticeship contract

12, 18, 24 months (depending on the program) in :
4 days on the job / 1 day on the course

The contract of apprenticeship can begin up to 3 months before the course start date. It ends at the earliest after the final exam papers.

Benefits for the employer

  • 6,000 euros for an employee on an apprenticeship contract.
  • Total exemption (less than 11 employees) or partial exemption from employer charges up to 78% of the SMIC.
  • The apprentice is not included in the company's workforce.

Financing apprenticeship contracts

The company contributes to the apprentice's training costs through its OPCO (Opérateur de Compétences).

Apprenticeship contract remuneration

The company pays the trainee a percentage of the gross minimum wage (SMIC brut) or the industry minimum gross wage. It varies according to the trainee's age and progress through the training cycle.
