After lavender fields, wheat. This year, the young designer from Provence presents a show not far from Paris to a limited number of guests. The health crisis forced us to rethink fashion week shows, and invited designers to be creative. The event generated worldwide interest, and was live-streamed on Instagram to over 2.4 million followers.

An uncluttered collection

The designer presented a casual collection in cream and pastel colors. The curves are fluid, the materials soft and crumpled. The designer's DNA is evident in this spring/summer 2021 collection. Indeed, we feel his connection with nature, but also with the simplicity that characterizes him. His minimalist style asserts itself, and sets him apart from many of today's hottest designers. His style turns to avant-garde design and playful deconstruction. The designer draws a clear line between concept and business through twisted pants, a deconstructed shirt skirt and an asymmetrical suit jacket. His audacity is still evident in this collection.

"A true celebration of L'Amour is universal."

The designer explains that the experience of confinement gave rise to the idea for this collection: LOVE. Indeed, her team had to be separated, the lack was felt and so was the desire to work together. The creative process was carried out with love, and the collection was built naturally at home. The designers understood that home is an infinite source of inspiration. Love is also an infinite source of inspiration, whether past or present. Love represents what unites us, what animates us every day and gives us the faith to carry on. This collection is about the unshakeable nature of love.

Two collections a year

Jacquemus had decided to offer only two mixed-gender shows per year: one in January and one in June. "This allows us to reduce the amount of shows, share raw materials between the men's and women's changing rooms and reduce the pace for my team and partners." This decision has enabled Jacquemus to present more thoughtful and impactful collections. From the scenography to the collection itself.
