The style Streetwear is above all a statement. A nod to the extravagant, ultra-sophisticated looks of the 1980s. In the 1990s, subcultures made their mark in music, through hip hop, but also in fashion. As its name suggests, the Streetwear draws its inspiration from the street. From the nonchalant teenager on a skateboard, to the Harlem "coolkid", fashion has seized on this trend, giving rise to numerous streetwear brands. Here's a closer look at the streetwear trends of 2020.

Raw, minimalist and simple

It's a well-known fact that fashion reinvents itself every season, reshaping past trends. In fact, during the last few Fashion Weeks, styles Streetwear each more streamlined than the last, made their appearance on catwalks. From plain, unisex hoodies to straight sweatpants, this year's trend is all about minimalism.

Like the increasingly sober, chic lines of clothes by Rick Owens (Stussy collaboration). Black, monochrome, large anoraks, the designer focuses on comfort and elegance.

This trend brings a breath of fresh air to the style. Indeed, streetwear has long been popularized by Nike and Supreme, who have made the glorification of logo and brand identity the hallmarks of this style. Brands such as Acne Studio and Libertine-Libertine decided to buck this trend and offer products devoid of any logos or other flashy identifiers.

Instagram as a leader

The whole trend streetwear is no longer played out in the street, but on Instagram. Brands have seized on the multitude of possibilities the social network has to offer. At a time when brand collaborations are proliferating on the Internet, Instagram is much more than a showcase.

Today, street style has been democratized and adopted by everyone. But there is a many influencers that decide what you're going to wear tomorrow. This is particularly true of LeoWalkinParis. A true icon of Paris streetwear, the young dancer first made a name for himself with his ex-girlfriend, singer Angèle. As a hip-hop dancer with Christine and The Queens, he is the perfect embodiment of a boy from the streets, who has developed his style through his encounters with dance and art in general. He has even created his own streetwear site: the brand Walk in Paris.

Eco-responsible streetwear

The latest trend: eco-responsible, or at least ethical, fashion. Streetwear, the embodiment of a modern lifestyle, has seized on this movement.

Hologram Clothing is the proof. This young brand offers affordable clothing in limited collections. Far from the fastfashion, the three young designers decided to approach urban fashion through rarity and quality. The result: a resolutely modern and original approach to streetwear.

Dedicated is also the latest brand to follow. Committed but stylish, the brand manufactures its garments from sustainable materials, and ensures that its creations are made under ethical and responsible conditions. Targeting Millenials while aiming to raise awareness among as many as possible, these brands nevertheless make no concessions on fashion and its requirements.
